Ladyface Alehouse & Brasserie is technically in LA county, but if you journey just a mile or two west past it, you’ll cross over the Ventura County line. This gem of a brewery was our favorite place to visit when we lived in Ventura County. Although the number of breweries opening up in the area has skyrocketed over the last few years, Ladfyace reminds a steadfast favorite among locals and people who do make the journey in from LA and Santa Barbara. Nestled at the foot of Ladyface Mountain, the brewery’s outdoor patio overlooks the pretty foothills and chaparral of the Conejo Valley landscape. The French-country-inspired, modern interior is warm and welcoming. The pub-inspired, seasonal menu is unsurprisingly excellent, a fitting counterpart to their stellar selection of Belgian-inspired ales, saisons, dubbels, tripels, sours, and IPAs. Dark beer lovers: don’t despair! Their Picture City Porter is a classic American-style porter with a creamy head and a sprinkling of coffee grounds. With live music on the weekends, a chill crowd, beautiful views, and great food, be sure to include this little gem on your “LA” brewery bucket list.
